Hi everybody,
Well, as said in the subject, my nas is bricked and I cannot unbrick it.
Upgraded from G5S52233211 to lastest version G5S504020033B36 and was taking so long (>40 minutes) that I switched it off to try telnet and the unbricking guide.
Telnet is ok but I“ve tried overwriting the images more than 50 times and with different firmware modules and nothing. Tried deleting the images first too. Every time I try to flash a module it takes more than 2 hours, although it gives me confirmation of the procedure as OK (well, twice or so it flashed Kernel and Ramdisk in 2 minutes but then I was unable to switch off after flashing).
I“ve even upgraded the boot. Now I“m thinking I may have corrupted another image (CurConf,
FIS Directory ot VCTL) but I cannot find any download of this modules.
Any suggestions?

Hi,
the complete flash procedure takes about 20 minutes.
I think there is a hardware problem.
How old is it? Maybe the external or the power supply on the board does not work correctly any more.

About 1.5 years old but was working flawlessly before the "upgrading".
I“ve tested the external power supply and seems Ok.
Upgrading the Kernel with the "Y" option takes 2 hours to upload the firmware and unknown amount of time to flash.
I think the hardware stuff for reading is Ok as it was working until I flashed but maybe something in the flashing procedure is not working, I mean hardware related...Can“t guess what as I“m totally newbie to this. Telneting has success in the 100% of attempts to connect so at least something works.

Hi,
uploading parts of the firmware takes some seconds using tftp. If I remember the transfer rate it is about 500kbit/s
The slowest part is the flashing itself.
You have to find what slows down the data transfer. Maybe he data is corrupted, too.

When uploading data, it says something as "retrieving data" but it“s only when finishes flashing when appears the data adress, what has been erased and what writed.
I“ve changed the data cable and linked it directly to the computer (I know, the guide says to use a switch but I needed to try) and after flashing (this time Kern and Ramdisk images were upgraded in 7 minutes both of them, but Application lasted 2 hours as usual) ”Voilį!, now I can see the nas and change its IP via the setup utility but no Web UI.
I assume the Web UI is the application module to upload and has nothing to do with the kernel or the ramdisk modules. Am I right?
I mean, what is the image related to the Web UI I need to upload again?
Next thing is using the j2 pins to see if there is enough voltage to flash correctly with a direct link and overriding the lan interface.

I forgot to say that Tftpds log points to 1 second uploading time it doesn“t matter what module I upload so it seems like the data transfer is not the problem.
This is frying my brain...
